The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō, The Sixty-nine Stations of the Kiso Kaidō, සහ One Hundred Famous Views of Edo වැනි ලෝකප්‍රකට චිත්‍ර මඟින් හිරෝෂිගේ ඉමහත් කීර්තියක් දිනාගති.<br /> <br /> ඔහු 1797 දී කෝකියෝ නුවර එඩෝ පෙදෙසෙහි උපන්නේ ය. ඔහුගේ පියා ගිනි නිවන හමුදාවේ සේවයේ නියුක්ත ව සිටියෙකි. 1809 දී මව්පියන්ගේ ඇවෑමෙන් හිරෝෂිගේ සිය පියා නියුක්ත ව සිටි සේවයට ම බැදුණි. එහෙත් එතරම් කාය ශක්තියක් නොමැති වීම නිසා වෘත්තිය ඔහුට අරුචි විය. කුඩා වියේ සිට ම චිත්‍ර ශිල්පයෙහි ඇල්මක් දැක් වූ හෙතෙම පසළොස් වියේ දී චිත්‍ර ශිල්පය හැදෑරීම පිණිස උගතවා නොයොහිරෝ කලායතනයට බැඳී උසස් සහතිකයක් ද ලබා ගත්තේ ය. එතැන් සිට හරෝෂිගේ හදුන්වනු ලැබූයේ උගතවා නමැති වෘත්තිය නාමයෙනි.<br /> <br /> හිරොෂිගේ ජපන් චිත්‍ර ශිල්පීන් අතුරෙහි උසස් තැනක් උසුලනුයේ භූ දර්ශන සිත්තරකු වශයෙනි. ‘උකියො -ඒ’ චිත්‍ර සම්ප්‍රදායේ උසස් ම භූදර්ශන චිත්‍ර ශිල්පියා වනුයේ හිරෝෂිගේ බව සාමාන්‍ය පිළිගැනීමයි. නගරයේ මෙන් ම පිටිසර පෙදෙස්වල ද නිතර සංචාරයේ යෙදුණු මෙතෙම ගිය ගිය හැම තැන දී ම විවිධ දර්ශන චිත්‍රයට නැගී ය. හිරෝෂිගේ සිතුවම් අතර (කියෝතේ සහ තෝකියෝ නගර දෙක සම්බන්ධ කෙරෙන සැතපුම් 3000 ක් දිග) තොකයිඩෝ මාර්ගය දෙපස දර්ශන නිරූපනය කළ සිතුවම් 53 (The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō) හා ෆූජී කන්දේ දර්ශන සියය ද උසස් නිර්මාණයෝ වෙති. හිරෝෂිගේ කුරුල්ලන් සහ මල් ඇඳීමෙහි අතිදක්ෂයෙක් විය. මෙම සිතුවම් ‘උකියො- ඒ’ සම්ප්‍රදායට ලැබුණු තවත් දායදයක් ලෙස සැළකේ. හිරෝෂිගේ කාටූන් චිත්‍ර සහ කාමුක චිත්‍ර ඇඳීමෙහි ද දක්ෂතාව පළ කළේ ය. <br /> <br /> ඔහුගේ චිත්‍ර ශෛලිය අමුර්තභාවයට වඩා තාත්විකත්වයට ළං විය. දැඩි ස්වභාවයකට වඩා සුනම්‍යතාවයක් දැක්වීය. ස්වභාවධර්මයේ විවිධ අවස්ථා පැහැදිලි ව තම සිතුවම්වලට නැංවීමට ඔහු සමත් විය. විවිධ කාලගුණ සහ විවිධ ඍතුගුණ හිරෝෂිගේ සිතුවම්වල මැනැවින් නිරූපනය විය. <br /> <br /> හිරෝෂිගේ චිත්‍ර ශිල්පියෙකු මෙන් ම සහජ කවියෙක් ද විය. ඔහු විසින් ප්‍රබන්ධ කරන ලද ‘කවි’ මල් සහ කුරුල්ලන් දැක්වෙන සිතුවම්වල ලියා ඇත. කවියෙකු හෙයින් ම තම සිතුවම්වල රසභාවෝත්පාදන හැඟීම් ජනිත කරවීමෙහි හිරෝෂිගේ සමත් විය. “විශිෂ්ට දර්ශනයන් දැක ගැනීම පිණිස මම අපර දිගභූමිය කරා යමි” යනුවෙන් මරණාසන්නයේ දී මුවින් ගිළිහුණු වචනවලින් හිරෝෂිගේ කවි කලාව හා චිත්‍ර කලාව එකට බැඳී පැවති අයුරු හෙළිවේ. <br /> <br /> (කර්තෘ: [[ඇල්. ප්‍රේමතිලක]]: 1959)<br /> <br /> (සංස්කරණය නොකළ)<br /> <br /> [[ප්‍රවර්ගය: ]]</div>
